Wartime sexual violence is a well-calculated and targeted policy that has harmed thousands of women over time. The ongoing civil war in Tigray, Ethiopia, is the scene of sexual brutalities committed by both government soldiers and Tigrayan fighters. Ethnicity» is used as a factor to humiliate and rape women. Post-sexual violence has traumatic consequences for the victims, both physically and psychologically. In addition, they are stigmatized by their communities, making it difficult for them to access health centers or rehabilitation. Although underrepresented, the estimated number of victims of sexual violence is shocking.

La violencia sexual en tiempos de guerra es una política bien calculada y dirigida que ha perjudicado a miles de mujeres a lo largo del tiempo. La actual guerra civil en Tigray (Etiopía) es el escenario de las brutalidades sexuales cometidas tanto por los soldados del gobierno como por los combatientes de Tigray. La «etnia» se utiliza como factor para humillar y violar a las mujeres. La violencia post-sexual tiene consecuencias traumáticas para las víctimas, tanto física como psicológicamente.
